Would you have been able to use civil diobedience and non-violence?

Civil disobediance- Non violently protesting and openly accepting the consequences.

Would I have been able to use civil disobediance and non-violence? I think that if i believed strongly enough in the cause i would have well been able to use civil disobediance because i knew that i would have been making a positive change for America. In the face of violence i would have prevailed because the people around me were all going forward. I wouldn't want to be the coward of the group and i would go on with my friends in the fight for integration.
